Brief Overview of the Course

This course teaches the beginning students the rudiments of journalistic writing skills and format. There are different writing styles namely, namely, narrative, expository, descriptive and argumentative styles. However, in journalism, stories are written and presented in a style unique to journalism alone. This may include inverted pyramid format of news reporting, headline writing, picture and graphic presentation, the use of names, titles, capitalization and abbreviations etc. This course, also, exposes students to the different style of presentations in broadcasting and print journalism.
